Integration of Experimental Data in a Two-stroke Engine Cylinder Modelling |
Conte M. - Fundación Tekniker (Spain) |
Abstract |
Numerical analyses are considered very useful tools for predicting the components behaviour and to save costs related to production. In the last years several software are available to perform very deep analyses but experimental investigation is also essential to support modelling. Aim of this work is focused on the integration of the experimental tests carried out on a two-stroke engine cylinder varying the working conditions with the corresponding numerical models. In particular, combustion chamber pressure and engine temperature measurements were carried out in different working conditions and the collected data were used as input for FEA software, in order to perform fatigue analysis also taking into account the material residual stresses coming from the related casting process simulation. The activity is a contribution of the NADIA European research project in FP6. |
