Dynamic simulation of a starter support |

Abstract |
Piaggio is developing a twin engine for a light transport vehicle. The starter support plate has failed under test bench conditions. A new support design has been conceived, whose fatigue performance has been assessed with a set of CAE analyses simulating the dynamic conditions the component is subject to during the endurance test. This procedure has allowed to avoid the traditional trial-and-error one, manufacturing the physical prototype only after its functionality has been proved. |
