Application of FEM and BEM Techniques for Prediction of Engine Radiated Noise |
Surkutar Y.V. - AUTOMOTIVE RESEARCH ASSOCIATION OF INDIA |
Abstract |
This paper discusses FE model generation and experimental correlation of engine components in terms of natural frequencies and mode shapes. Dynamic analysis has been performed for extraction of surface vibration velocities. Acoustic analysis has been carried out for prediction of engine radiated noise with the application of BEM techniques based on the Acoustic Transfer Vector concept enabling a faster engine development process. Structural modifications has been suggested to improve the NVH performance of engine by preparation of iterative models of varying stiffness by addition of stiffeners/ribs on Engine components. |
